About the event
The Fenland Flora - Survival against the odds webinar, 17 November 1-2 pm
Fenland has all too often been dismissed as boring and with little biodiversity value outside the washes and a few NNRs. Aquatic botany expert Owen Mountford will talk about the Fenland Flora project, now ready for publication, which documents the history and present status of wild plants in Fenland, and has shown the vital importance of the region, especially for aquatic plants. In addition, relics of the past Fenland vegetation persist in unlikely places, and novel habitats support new species and communities.
