Paludi4All promising species survey

Updated: Oct 24

The Paludi4All project is after some information to help them identify promising species and value chains that can support climate mitigation and rural development. To help them in this study, they would like you to complete their survey.

The survey focuses on 13 species, or species‑groups, identified in prior research as having potential as paludiculture crops in temperate zones of Europe (Abel, S. & Kallweit, T. (2022) Potential Paludiculture Plants of the Holarctic. Page 11: Table 1).

Once the survey is closed, thePaludi4All consortium plan to use the collated information to help them develop cross-European workshops, produce fact sheets and guidance materials and carry out Life cycle assessments (LCA) of environmental performance.

The deadline for responses to the survey is 31 December 2025.

More about Paludi4All

The Paludi4All project is investigating the climate, environmental, and socio-economic benefits of paludiculture while providing an understanding of its implications and developing strategies to implement it across Europe. The project will use a collaborative and interdisciplinary approach and aims to innovate at multiple levels, including farming practices, value chains, market systems, and governance, to exploit the crops potential.

We will explore the Paludi4All project in more detail in a future blog.
