Broads peat watertable modelling briefing

The Broads Authority are hosting a webinar on 16th October at 15:30 – 17:00 for lowland peat partnerships, farmers and landowners to find out about the water table tools being developed to support raising peat water tables in the Broads National Park.

The Broads Peat Partnership and Cranfield University water table tools are being developed using groundbreaking Broads water table modelling to assess a combination of drain freeboard, drain spacing and land use scenarios. The outputs are graphical showing how changes in the scenario change the water table depth, runoff, water movement and the additional water requirements.

The objective in developing the tool is to support local farmers to achieve Countryside Stewardship (CS) option SW18 (raised water table in peat soils) and to ensure this is being achieved the Broads Authority would like to invite you to their webinar on the 16th October and welcome your feedback to ensure the tool is fit for purpose. The webinar is free to attend but you will need to register.
