About the event

Join us to explore an important field-scale wetter farming trial growing Typha near Manchester. Paludiculture (or wetter farming) is a system of wet agriculture which raises the water table to produce crops suited to wetland conditions.

The session will be led by Mike Longdon, Peatland Programme Technical Lead for the Lancashire Wildlife Trust and Liverpool John Moores University. Following a tour of the trial site, we will consider the business case for paludiculture, the work of the trial and discuss the production of other crops through wetter farming systems. Tea, coffee and light refreshments will be provided. Places are limited.

To attend, you must register by emailing mmcmullen@lancswt.org.uk

Organised by the Great Manchester Wetlands Land Managers’ Group.
