About the event

The Paludiculture and Wetter Farming Fund (PWFF) is now open, with up to £10 million available to support projects across England's lowland peat landscapes.

Funded by Defra and delivered by Natural England (NE), PWFF builds on earlier work through the Paludiculture Exploration Fund and supports the development of paludiculture, and wetter farming approaches at higher water tables, that restore peatland while keeping land in productive use.

PWFF will focus on developing paludiculture crops and bringing them to market, testing wetter farming systems for food production, and addressing practical barriers such as water management, machinery, and supply chains. Projects are expected to generate evidence and share learning to support wider adoption across the sector.

Applications are open until 17:00 on 21 August 2026. If appropriate, please share this opportunity with any partners or stakeholders who may be interested in applying.
