About the event
An interactive two day workshop for those with an interest in the future of lowland agricultural peat, hosted by Fenland SOIL and the Centre for Landscape Regeneration, University of Cambridge.
We will explore the current thinking, knowledge gaps, proposed policy changes and future research and policy requirements. It will be interactive and encourage collaborations and discussions.
We will discuss the challenges set out by the Lowland Peat Taskforce Report and the UK Government’s Environmental Land Management Scheme (ELMS) with an ambition to develop a community response to these reports and policies.
Participants from academia, industry, farmers, growers, policy makers, NGOs, and local communities are encouraged to attend.
Leading researchers, policy makers, stakeholders and industry experts will share their insights, including an international perspective and delegates will be able to take part in group workshops and discussions.
There will also be a workshop dinner, with BBC Countryfile presenter and author of “39 Ways to Save the Planet”, Tom Heap.
This two-day event will carry a nominal charge for attendance:
· £150 for general admission
· £90 for organisations with an active Fenland SOIL membership (one discounted ticket per organisation)
· £90 for students
