Engagement interests
We are currenlty developing the Living Lowlands project to carry out a plaudiculture trial on Lowland peat soils. This reasearch is likely to focus on the East Anglian Fens but we're looking to work with tenant farmers and adjacent land-owners to the Wicken Fen site. We currently have match funding to support research and development in the paludiculture space and we're particulalry interested in developing the research around the wider benefits of paludiculture (water quality, flood risk, fire mitigation biodiversity etc.) We are currently scoping some trial sites but are also keen to use our capacity (staff time + fianncial resource) to support a project with a neighbouring farmer. We currently carry out lowland peat restoration across many of our sites and have a soft-track fen harvester. We're also looking to develop nature rich water storage areas as part of the project and have a general interest in water management across East Anglia. We're looking at how we can build towards better/transformational water management across the Fens and interested in collaborating to a project in this space.
We are interested in the Water Discovery/Implementation grants and Paludiculture grants
Also have capacity to carry out litereature reviews.
